This week Sheepshank Sam came! He is a lumberman and he showed us what life was like in a lumber camp. Did you know that the lumbermen had Sunday off? Yep. He started by telling us how a lumber camp was started. He said that someone would want to buy land and build a camp. Then they would ask to borrow money from the bank. A lumber camp will be made on the land. I learned so much when he came for the day. We even got to cut wood, be horses, move logs and more! Thanks for letting me tell you about Sheepshank Sam!

4th graders have a 4th grade store. It is on April 24. It’s where we use fake money to buy little toys, pencils and even enter to win something from the raffle.
You earn money and you sometimes get money taken away from you. I have $33.50. Everyone always looks forward for the 4th grade store.

We have been exploring websites for kids. There are many websites out on the internet that Kids learn, connect with other kids, and play!

My choice is a website that helps kids learn about animals and games too.
I like it because it gives you a lot of things to do and learn.

I have a book baggie book that I can read independently. I want to share some information with you about my book. The title of my book is Hatchet. It is written by Gary Paulsen. This story is about a boy named Brian Robeson. His parents got divorced and he was on his way by bushplane to see his father. He was the only passenger. Something happens to the pilot and the plane crashes. Where is Brian?
It takes place in 2000. One of my favorite characters is Brian because he shows a lot of patience. I would recommend this book because the author shows emotion.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a brilliant man. He inspired many people. His ”I Have a Dream” speech was what he thought America could be one
day. Here is a part of his speech.” I have a dream that one day… little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hand with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers…” That was my favorite part. He was born Jan.15,1929 and killed April 4,1968. Click on the link below to here my speech.

The Widow’s Broom is a book by Chris VanAllsburg. It’s about a widow who finds a magic broom. This book has some tricks and pulls you in to read it over and over again. A Widow’s Broom
is a great book for children. It inspired me to make my stories more like,”I wonder…” ”Why did that happen…?” You can find this tale at Barnes and Noble or at any other bookstore. It doesn’t look like a good book, but it is.
